Can I able to use Disk Durid partitioning tool after installation also

Hello ,

I installed Redhat 7.2 in my PC, now I want to change the size of some partitions. Can I able to use the same utility (ie Disk Durid) after installation also. If not possible then is there any 3 party utilities (Freeware) availabe?

Thanks in advance

You can use the GNU parted utility:
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/parted

You will have to resize your filesystems before you use parted. For ext or reiserfs you can use resizee2fs or resize_reiserfs respectively.

Resize the filesystem to the desired size then run parted and shrink the partition size to the same or a bit greater than the filesystem size.

Use with caution!

Good luck

Hi

Does Parted supports ext3 file systems. Because while upgrading Linux 7.1 to 7.2 I upgraded file systems from ext2 to ext3....
