My guess is that there are rpm's awailable for this product.... Much better for new people.

For rpm's:

rpm -i <filename>.rpm

If there are any problems read "man rpm"(just write that anywhere) or rpm --help .

If you get an error saying that the package is already installed, chekc if your version is newer, if it is type in "rpm -iF <filename>.rpm"

if you're sure you're putting in the right filename, you're in the right dir, and it's really a .tgz, then i have no idea.

perhaps the file's corrupted?

someone smarter will have to help with this one.

you could try cd'ing to the directory the .tgz's in then use the pkgtool

i.e. type

pkgtool

as root, or

su -c pkgtool

as user and it will do it for ya.
