Can't find resolv.conf

Hello there.

I had installed Debian Woody a while ago, and I tried to set up an Internet connection. I used a howto that I found somewhere on the net, and was able to edit all the files without any trouble, except one; resolv.conf . I know this is supposed to be in /etc, but even a whereis doesn't find it.

Any help at all is much appreciated,
Rameses D

You have to create it:
cd /etc
touch resolv.conf

then edit it with your favorite editor
mine reads:

search localdomain
nameserver 192.168.254.254

the IP address is the address for my DSL router/modem

Hope this helps
