Bodhi does not recognize the NFTS partitioned drive. Trying to use virtual box to run windows in bodhi on my dual boot computer

How do i get bodhi and virtual box to recognize the windows partition on my HD? I can dual boot just fine. FUSE recognizes its presence and displays the contents. Or am I going about this wrong and do I just need to install just the iso on the partition i want to run the virtual box on?

Let's see if I can get this straight. You have a dual-boot Bodhi/Windows setup, but you also want to run Windows in a VirtualBox virtual machine in Bodhi?

If you do want to run the same licensed version of windows in two instances on the same machine, I would suggest you read your windows EULA. You have only paid for a license to use one instance of windows on one machine and microsoft considers virtual machines as separate machines. You could install both but could only USE one and have another as a backup. Discussed in some detail at the links below. If that is not your intention you will have to clarify your post.

Best to contact microsoft for clarification.

this sounds like bodhi is recognizing the ntfs partition just fine?
so all you need is to set up shared folders on virtualbox.
i have no idea if windows also uses guest additions; if yes, that's what you'd need to install (and set up) on the windows guest.
plenty of info on that on the wild web.

I am not sure I understand the question.

Have you installed Windows as a virtual machine yet?

In addition, a guest can not access a hosts filesystem and a host can not access the guests filesystem. Since you want Bodhi as the host system you should create the guest virtual drive on a linux filesystem. When you start the virtual machine you then can select the ISO file to "insert" into the virtual CDROM drive and install just like a physical system. You can find guides on how to install Windows as a VirtualBox VM.

As stated you can install guest editions to share data between the host and guest just using VirtualBox and without needing to configure samba.
