binfmt problem

hi there.
seems, i have a problem with my binfmt-module...
so i want to start a .Net-Exe without typing "mono XXX.exe"
that means, i have to register it via binfmt.
so i did.
echo ':CLR:M::MZ::/usr/bin/mono:' > /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc/register

this spawns a new file in the binfmt_misc directory, namely "CLR"
everything seems ok (cat CLR gives me some infos on this "typemapping")

now, shouldnt it be possible to just type "./XXX.exe"?

(translated errormessage, so maybe in english there is another message)
"bash: XXX.exe: Is no directory"

so my question: whats wrong?!?

oh, right, and i am using Mandriva 2008.1

thanks for any answers
