Best way to learn the basics?

I was just wondering if anyone here might be able to provide a few links to some decent Linux newbie guides. I am currently having quite a few problems that I need to work out, and I think the easiest way would be to just start reading. I have visited tdlp.com so far and its an alright site, but most of the guides I found on that site are pretty specific. Im looking for just a basic guide to teach me from the ground up. Thanks

well there is the RUTE Guide covers everything, highly recommended ...

file system hierarchy to know how the folder structure works ...

a less detailed heirarchyexplanation but just as useful

a dictionary of linux commands very good site

a couple little shortcut keys on some common things ..

a more detailed list of shortcuts and commands ..

summary on some commands

compare dos to linux commands
same as above

and finally the history of UNIX ;-)

Wow, thanks. That was alot more than I could have hoped for. The Rute one looks especially promising. I think I know what Im going to be doing for the next few days...
