Baofeng on Linux I get a access denied message

message is

[Errno 13] could not open port /dev/ttyUSB0: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/dev/ttyUSB0'

Help would be most appreciated

Try running whatever you are trying to run, as sudo. (I'm assuming you are trying to read/flash a baofeng radio)

If you can, try to post more details of your device, and exactly what you did to get this error. Thanks!

wish to use the CHIRP software to input the Baofeng transceiver with frequency data, the baofeng is connected to a usb port
and that is the msg I get, thanks for any help
