Auto-login (root account)

I am running Fedora Core 3. For certain reasons I need to have my computer auto-login into the ROOT account of my computer. Using the GUI of the setup told me that setting the ROOT account as the auto-login account is not allowed. Any work-arounds?

Thanks!!

As you probably know, logging in as root is poo-pooed in the Linux community. Can we at least ask what these "certain reasons" are for "needing" to auto-login as root?

you should avoid this and use sudo or su but whatever right!

Try looking for a file name gdm.conf(i believe it is fedora or mandriva you are using).
There maybe an option at login allowing you to configure your login manager to allow root to auto-login

Does this help?
I'm still not sure why you "need" to log in as root.
