Annoying display problem

Hi,

For some reason after i update my fedora core 4 the refresh rate of the screen doesnt match or something (just guessing this is the problem), anyways, the look on my screen has those diagonal lines of distortion which give a real headache after some time looking at the display.

I tried to change the vertical refresh rate in the xorg.conf to rates i'm sure my display is capable of but i dont know it's horizontal refresh rates capability.

Doing the above didn't help me, what can i do?
