Question ALSA driver installtion

Hi all,

I am new to linux; i have gone to alsa-project site where they have given alsa-driver-1.0.xx,, alsa-utils-, alsa-plugin, alsa-firmwire,
alsa-oss, etc.., But i am afraid to know in which order to install the packages whether plugins has to be installed before driver or driver has to be installed before utilis, i am totally confused?????????

Please any one can help me in knowing the order in which we have to do the installation.

with thanks,

You should post the Linux distribution you are using, also, it will be beneficial to put it in you profile under "distribution". Most Linux distributions have smart package managers that install pre-configured alsa packages designed for it specifically. Using packages designed for your distribution ensures a smooth running well configured system. Installing packages from source is sometimes necessary, but you should use packages designed for your system if at all possible.

Tell us which Linux distribution you are using and chances are someone will help get some sound happening for you.
