Ahhh...I killed Linux...help!

I edited smb.conf to see how well I could get Mandrake 9.2 running on my home network.

Next reboot Lilo gets stuck so I have to go into the failsafe mode. No problems there, it loads ok into the shell, but when I type in either kde or startx it tries to start but then throws me out with the following error....

"Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed' "

When I am in the shell I can navigate to the smb.conf file but I don't know the command to edit it and change everything back.

What should I do....???

if your xfont server isn't running, you'll get that message.
