Ahhh Linux Finally Werks Oh No Wait a Minute!!!

ok Finnally Got phat linux to werk now just got a couple (Alot) Of Questions.

Networking Uh How do i set up my protocals and can I use ipx protocal and connect to a windows drive on my network

How can i change my graphics interface? For instance i want my windows to be rounded , or triangle is it Possible?

I use netzero dial-up internet connection it uses software protocals to connect to the internet is their anyway to use my isp in linux

Can I Change the login screen?(Where u have to put in login password To gain access to root and menu-and x-windows

Is Application animation possible( Say for instance i want some sort of animation to play before my programs load is that possible?

Does BasH Command Mean Pound on my keyboard (

Ok Thats it for now anyway I would greatly appreicate any help anyone could or can offer. I'm really new and need something better than winblowz, I run phat linux ( 4 now) I would buy a better distro but i'm 15 and broke so i dont see that happing anytime soon. I got phat because i wanted to see if i like linux so far i do it seems pretty flexible. i hope someday to be a guru (IT WILL HAPPEN!!!

) If anyone could also give me advice anything i would be great-ful I Just installed linux 2-3 days ago so i'm farly new. I know alot of the command line already Just Gota get used to this X- Stuff.

You will probably find that that is already set up. You will probably want to use the samba program. http://www.samba.org/

You would need to change your window manager (enlightenment is probably best for this) and get or write a theme that does this. Of course the insides of the program will be the same shape so you will end up with an insaly huge border.

Most log in screens are themeable to some extent, how you go about it would depend on which log in program you use.

You could run them through a shell script. Something like this might work:

ummm.. if your using the free netzero, and not paying for it, it isn't going to work most likely as it needs the software to connect to display the ads... now if your paying for the service, just setup a dial out program like kppp or gnomes internet dialer you can find in the program menu which makes things easier....

Ok Cool I gota check and see if the protocals work i'll chek out the software and stuff l8ter.

Ok I pay for netzero. get no banner but a bar like address bar sized in Explorer. Hopefully i can get through this.
