after login my screen loads black on new install
I recently tried to install fedora core5 over win vista. I created a partition and loaded linux. It seemed to load fine, no complications. when I booted it up for the first time, it brought me to the login and after I logged in it loaded a black screen with no response. I rebooted with vista and erased the partition and then I was stuck at the grub loader. I am not a big fan of vista anyway so I thought I would just load linux over the top of vista and now it does the same thing. It brings me to the login screen and as soon as I login, it loads a black screen with no response. If you can't tell by now, I am very green as a user and I really just want to get linux loaded and operating so I can start learning how to use it. I don't have any of the drivers for it either (just to make matters really bad) my laptop is a hp presario dv6000. If anyone has help, I would greatly appreciate it. As I said, I just want to get it loaded and working and I just got ahead of myself instead of getting help BEFORE I got into trouble. Thanks alot, ahead of time,
