Able To Delete Files Without Permission using Samba

samba users are able to edit/delete files even though they don't have r+w permissions for that directory. even in the samb.conf the permissions are set to 0770 so that only users belonging to a particular group can edit/delete files. But in my case all users can edit/delete files?....

The directory permissions may be one thing, but the file permissions can be different.
