2 Questions about X and 1 about LILO
I recently installed a copy of Vector Linux 4 on an older computer I'm planning on turning into low-traffic a file server eventually(and a little desktop use on the side). I'm using the integrated graphics(Intel i810 chipset) and I can't seem to get the i810 driver to work so I'm using VESA. I can't change the screen resolution from the default 640x480x24@60hz. I tried Ctrl+Alt+- and Ctrl+Alt++ with both locations for the + and - but it just won't change the resolution. Could this be because of the small amout of RAM in my system(32 megs)? Also, is there any way to get the native integrated graphics driver to work? X complains about not having enough video memory(somthign like 6mb AGP, even though this mobo's integrated are on the PCI bus and have only 4mb video memory) and is this again related to the small amount of RAM? I will eventually be upgrading the memory but it is just a quesion of now or later. Any help is appreciated.
Also, when I boot the system I get a messge: No Operating System Found or something like that. I installed LILO in the boot sector of hda1 so it should work. Should I reinstall LILO in the MBR? I am currently booting this box using the install CD.
