2 hard disk, 2 os 1 computer, can it be done and how?

Hi Folks,

Just shifted over to Linux from Windows.

Im running Suse 9.1 on my primary drive and got a second drive running Win 2000. I currently just pull the plugs from one then put it on the other when I want to run another OS.

Is there anyway to make my life simpler without having to partition 1 drive into 2?

I was thinking of putting the drives in a master/slave configuration and using the bios to choose which one to boot from. Wanted to keep both OS/hard drives completely seperate. Will this work? Any better suggestions?

Thanks a bunch.

Hi!

You can set up your boot loader (LILO or GRUB) to load an OS from the second drive. If you want a hardware solution, you could go for a nicklock:

This is basically a switch that swaps which drive is master and which is slave on an IDE channel.
