zod and windows
greetings and salutations,
I have an xp machine and a fedora core 6 machine on the network. only two machines..I have iis installed on the xp, samba appears to be installed on the zod box, as I have smb mounts located on the desktop. smb4k can browse the windows workgroup, can see the shared printer, can attempt to print to the printer, and then nothing happens. I have gone through the printer installation on zod, set it to samba, and sees the workgroup "mshome" and doesn't list anything underneath. I physically put in the iss printer link..in my case that was smb://gwyndion/3940 and verified the link. It shows up fine. I try a test print, it looks like it goes through, I run back to the windows box and log into the iis printers page and shows the doc spooling and then printing and then stays that way. I have left it there for a couple of house and nothing ever comes out of the printer. the only way I get a change on the iis printer screen is by unplugging the printer, and plugging it back in and nothing else happens. I am new to linux, learning as I go, and have figured out quite a bit thanks to the wonderful tags in google. I am stumped on this, if anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated....
