Zod Network Configuration Problem

Hello guys,

Yesterday I updated to the x86 version of FC6 with a fresh install on my box. Everything works great with the exeption of my static eth0 settings. I seem to only be able to connect thru DHCP. To set up my static ip connection I followed these steps:

/sbin/ifconfig -a eth0 192.168.5.5 netmask 255.255.255.0
/sbin/route add default gw 192.168.5.1

my /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 looks like this:

DEVICE=eth0
HWADDR=XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
USERCTL=no
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=none
NETWORK=192.168.5.0
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
IPADDR=192.168.5.5
TYPE=Ethernet
IPV6INIT=no

my /etc/sysconfig/network shows:

NETWORKING=yes
NETWORKING_IPV6=no
HOSTNAME=localhost
GATEWAYDEV=
GATEWAY=192.168.5.1

If someone could point out what is wrong with my network settings I'll much appreciate it.

I discovered I could connect to my box thru ssh, but my server still wouldn't render html pages. At last the issue was iptables, which unlinke FC5 are enabled in Fedora Core 6 by default. Thanks for reading.
