Angry X -query control

Hello,

I am using the command
X :1 -query remote.ip
to get a remote X session launched from my Fedora laptop to our Solaris box.
It works great except that my whole monitor space is used for the remote session and I can't seem to switch back to my local machine. Does anyone know how to control the session?

Thanks.

Can you Ctrl-Alt-F7 back to your local session?

Do you really need a full session on the Solaris box, or just certain apps.

If you are already running X server and X apps on your laptop, you can use Xnest to connect to the solaris server.
Xnest is an X server running in a window (as an X client).
So start your x-session locally and in an xterm run
Xnest -query remote.ip
