i hav a USB broadband modem, micromax MMX 300c CDMA2000 HSIA modem(zero cd -no driver CD included with device)
after several tweaks in wvdial.conf file, i got this message in console display....
-->WVdial Internet dialer version 1.60
-->Initializing modem
-->sending ATZ
-->sendin AT0Q
-->re-sending ATZ
-->modem not responding
somehow i need to get internet in my LINUX OS,,,any suggestions
It looks as if you're not finding the modem. It may be looking for ttySx. AFAIK, this needs to see /dev/usb/ttyS0 or the like. How have you that set up?
Since this is a USB device you can test to see how Linux is mapping the device.
Remove the USB modem.
Wait a couple of minutes.
Plug the USB modem in.
Open a terminal window and enter the following command.
Code:
dmesg
Linux should create some messages when it sees the modem that will tell you how it maps the real hardware to a virtual device such as ttyS0 or whatever.
i used the extra options in "sakis3g" mode switched ma USB device and mounted to ttyUSB0 and tweaked wvdial.conf file a little.....thanks for the help guys
