windows 2003 can't join linux domain


HI all,

i have redhat linux 9. i have cofigured samba with the swat. I rey joining my windows 2003 to my linux domain it tell me user not found. I configured the smbpasswd for the root account. I also hack the registery of the windows 2003 pc under localmachine settings.
Yet still i can't join the domain.

What steps have you ran through to connect into your domain? Do you have physical connectivity (ping) to your Windows DC? The Samba documentation available at http://us5.samba.org/samba/docs/man/...TO-Collection/ gives excellent examples. It's not that hard. As you're failing when authenticating, try
Code:
wbinfo -u
to see if you get a list of users returned from your DC correctly as a start...
