windows 2003 can't join linux domain

HI all,

i have redhat linux 9. i have cofigured samba with the swat. I rey joining my windows 2003 to my linux domain it tell me user not found. I configured the smbpasswd for the root account. I also hack the registery of the windows 2003 pc under localmachine settings.
Yet still i can't join the domain.

What steps have you ran through to connect into your domain? Do you have physical connectivity (ping) to your Windows DC? The Samba documentation available at gives excellent examples. It's not that hard. As you're failing when authenticating, try
wbinfo -u
to see if you get a list of users returned from your DC correctly as a start...
