Hi there,

Can you give us a few hints as to how you've got this set-up,

modem through a NIC or USB?
Can you do an ifconfig for us to take a look at?
Who is your ISP?
Do you have a static or dynamic IPADDR...

For the moment, if it all seems fine then drops after a few days it might be a DHCP lease thing...
DHCP means that your IP address is assigned by your ISP from a pool of IP addresses that they hold for you. When you are given one it has various parameters attached to it 'negotiated by DHCP server'. One of these parameters is 'lease time'

Lease time can vary from ISP to ISP, it should be just a case of renewing your lease or making a DHCP request for a new IPADDR.. since I dont know how you have things set up there I'm unable to advice on exactly how to do this.

Good luck, I'll be watching if you post again.

thanks very much !!!

well ,I have two NIC: private network connect (connet to LAN) and public network connect (connet to ADSL Modem).

private network connect :

IPADDR---192.168.0.1
Subnetmask--255.255.255.0
no Gateway

public network connect:

have a dynamic IPADDR

I have two OS on my disk. Linux & Winxp. Under winxp,everything is OK,but not under linux (drop after while interval).

so,I'm very confusion.The same way (both use dynamic IPADDR),but,the different result
