Which file is responsible for setting up interfaces at boot time?

Hi,
I get default ip address as 192.168.0.100 after every boot.
I want to change it to some other address so which file in kernel has the entry for this??
Thanks

Depends what distro you are using.... What distro are you using, anyways?

I know for some distro's, it would be located in the /etc/network/interfaces file (Ubuntu, etc). For me, it is completely different, because I am using Fedora 15. Everything for me is located in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/.

Cheers,

Josh

Ok. It will definitely be under /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ for you. I highly recommend that you upgrade your distro, since Fedora 13 is not maintained anymore. But as far as your issue, you should just be able to configure what you need through network manager. Manually, edit your ifcfg-XXXX file, where XXXX is the interface that the IP address is being statically set to.
