What does -am in PPPD do?

Hi,

I cant seem to connect to my ISP without using -am as parameters, pppd will hang at LCP ConfReq if I dont add it.

What does it do? I cant find it in the man pages for pppd.

My full connection line looks like this,
pppd /dev/ttyS0 115200 demand connect 'wvdial -c "Modem Type = Analog Modem" "Idle Seconds = 120" "ISDN = 0" "Auto Reconnect = on" "New PPPD = yes" "Phone = 01342592323" "Modem = /dev/ttyS0" "Username = w231254" "Password = 1234" "Baud = 115200"' debug usepeerdns -am crtscts usehostname modem defaultroute noipdefault idle 120 user w231254 password 1234"

Thanks!

I don't know for sure, but as a guess I'd say its turning off asyncmap negotiation so all control characters get escaped instead of some being interpreted by pppd.
