vsftpd error 550 on suse 9.1

hi

I've set vsftpd.conf settings

anonymous_enable=YES
write_enable=YES
anon_upload_enable=YES

I think I've seen an identical thread somewhere on this site, but it didn't help. It said that anonymous ftp folder was located at /usr/bin/ftp/pub or something. For me, it is located at /srv/ftp. I have created a folder at /srv/ftp/pub with permissions set at 777. However, uploading files to the folder from different computers, or localhost returns an error 550 Permission Denied. Any help welcome. Thanks!
(I'm a newbie)
