im looking for a free vps server service, not one i install on my PC but an external one. I need to use it to just handle a reverse ssh.
do you guys know of such a service?
There appear to be several, but I'm not sure I understand what you're looking for.
To me VPS means Virtual Private Server, which is, as I understand it, simply a virtual machine (VM) functioning as a server. What, exactly, is the problem you're trying to solve?

yes, you have that right vps is virtual private server. Usually vps's are OUTSIDE of your network, which is what i need
if you just want it for a reverse ssh tunnel (presumably because you don't have real/public IP address) then you can probably use a proxy service instead of an entire VPS. Renting a single port should be much cheaper than an entire virtual machine. I do remember stumbling upon such services in the past but right now my google foo is failing me.

Evo2.
Yeah i need to R ssh becasue my ISP blocks ssh at the protocol lvl on their end, EVEN though they say they dont haha, but i know they do, so i just need an external server to reverse ssh so i can connect to my ssh server at home from other locations
i tired to install an ssh server on my phone but none fo them allow incoming connections from a WAN address, so that idea went up in smoke haha
There is no adequate free VPS services. But there is a lot of very cheap services with $1-3 per month (i.e. https://www.scaleway.com/ , https://www.ovh.com/ , also as many other providers). Or you can try to use Google Cloud or AWS with free tier for this.

just saw this. thank you much. i am looking into an EC2 tier from AWS or google cloud. since i am a student, i might get longer than a year, but a year should be good enough haha
Is there anyone who can tell me about those VPS things? For what are you using it?
Lots of things; what do you want to know?? And you re-opened a thread that had been closed for two years, and hijacked it with your own question; read the LQ Rules and "Question Guidelines". Open your own thread for your own question and when asking, provide details.
Not a lot we can say to, "tell me about those vps things" that you can't already find a description of online. What do you want to use it for?
