VPN internet problem not auth
Hi,
I currently am working with a Debian Sarge 3.1 install for my dedicated server. I used to have Mandrake 10.0 in use constantly befor this with VPN setup and all but it needed to change. I am using Poptop 1.2.1 and it is already configured from Mandrake10.0. Now I could authenticate and login fine and use the LAN at home but I am not able to get outbounds internet access if I open a web page or something. It cant find anything. I have double checked my resolv.conf file and everything. I checked it in webmin too. I always ensure that gateways between the VPN connection and the remote one are different. I am fairly new to Debian as i'm used to Gentoo and Mandrake so I dont know if theres something special I must perform in Debian to get internet up and running. Oh, and I installed PPTPD from apt-get. As of now, i'm out of troubleshooting ideas and am refferring to this forum. Before this post I made sure I googled this problem and followed Debians PPTP setup along with other instructions from other people, read other peoples problems on forums (including this). Most of the problems other seem to have is not even authenticating with the PPTPD server. I have a feeling its something simple in a config file specific to Debian I should change but dont know what it is. Its driving me crazy. I thank whoever replies to this thread. If this issue cannot be resolved on the forum I could in some case grant access to my server via SSH but i'd have to talk to them first and not mention any of the login info on this forum :-P
Thanks in advance,
--George
