Just a suggestion, I'm learning Samba myself, but have you told Samba to join the windows domain?
Once I did this, I had no problems. If you need to join an NT domain:
Shut down the Samba daemons. Go to your PDC, open the Server Manager and add your Samba server as a Windows NT Workstation or Server using the Netbios name from your smb.conf file. Then, at a Linux terminal prompt, type
smbpasswd -j DOMAIN -r PDCSERVER
where DOMAIN is your NT domain and PDCSERVER is the name of your Primary Domain Controller.
