Traffic monitor recommendations?

Does anyone have any recommendations/preferences for traffic monitor utilities? Our firewall/gateway is a debian box and we have some users abusing our bandwith and we'd like to track them down.

really depends what you want to do, monitoring means a *LOT* of different things to different peopl. going on your basic description, try ntop to account for flows of traffic though a linux system, and finding top offenders and such.

Yes indeed, I know it can mean a lot but I was talking specifically about traffic DL/UL from the hosts. I was right in the middle of doing an apt get on ntop when I saw this message, I'll try it out. Thank you!
