telnet error -- help!

Whenever I try to telnet to my server, it says:

Red Hat Linux release 7.1 (Seawolf)
Kernel 2.4.9-34 on an i686
login: -h for super-user only.

and I can't login via telnet. This has just started, and I need urgent help please!

TIA

I would eliminate telnet completely and use SSH if this machine is connected to the internet at all. Telnet is very insecure as everything is passed as plain un-encrypted text.

For a very easy way to configure your sshd I would suggest installing webmin from http://www.webmin.com . You'll want to set it up to use ssl so that it is also secure though.

Just my two cents.
