I have a Surecom EP320XS LAN card which unfortunately is not getting detected on RHL 8.0 during install nor with the Redhat-config-network command. My driver CD has a folder with a so called file that can patch my kernel if it is older than 2.2.x. But I really do not understand kernel compile - so I really dont know what to do with this .c file.

Intensive googling did not yield any driver file either in source form or binary. Can anyone help me with this problem?

I am prepared to delve into kernel compile but will upgrading to Redhat 9.0 solve my problem? I run Redhat 8.0 with GRUB (not LILO) on a P3-667 Cumine with 128 MB of RAM.
