I just upgraded from red hat 9.0 to fedora core 2. I used to have a pcx2200 cable modem which worked fine under Road runner on a usb cable modem(what i'm using now), but it got fried and now I'm stuck with a pcx2600. Fedora and Red Hat9 won't recognize it as a modem, and I can't connect it to a network card because I don't have one. It works fine under Windows, but not under Linux. Please help.
maverick08188; agree with sigsegv,
if cable company does not or will not change cablemodem then ur only alternative is acquiring a network card.
one that is supported by linux (of course). advice: comparing w vs l is not
worth effort. w has hardware mfg in its pocket ,linux has to depend on developers and users to work on support for devices mfg not willing to support linux!
