ssh help

ok well i have a proxy set up .Now i wanna use it over ssh.

my proxy is server:8888

from my laptop how do i connect to server and make 8888 on laptop(localhost) 8888 on the server?

ive looked in the man file but i cant figure it out.

Create a tunnel using ssh to port 8888 on the server, e.g.

Code:

ssh -L8888:localhost:8888 you@server

Then set localhost:8888 as your proxy.
