Mac OS X ssh client / linux sshd : ssh hangs/disconnects

I have a client who accesses my RH8 box by SSH from her Mac (ie. OSX ssh client/linux sshd). This works fine except the session freezes up on the Mac end (appears to be dropped from the server end) if the connection is inactive for about 5-10 minutes. Very annoying. We have tried with keepalive on and off on both ends. There is no timeout set on the linux side. We cannot find any timeout on the Mac side.

Can anyone suggest what might cause this?

KeepAlive

Check your sshdconfig file for and make sure you have the keep alive option enabled.
