BT Router internal IP 192.168.254.254
external IP Dynamically assigned
Smothwall Green IP 192.168.254.200
RED IP 192.168.254.201
Workstations IP Dynamicall assigned from Smoothy DHCP
All subnets 255.255.255.0
I can ping both the Red and Green interfaces an I can also get into the smoothwall control panel from the workstations, but cannot get any Internet access. Is there any setting within smoothwall to 'talk' to the BT ADSL Router.
Can anyone suggest the next step to try and find out what the problem is.
I didn't think RED and Green could be on the same network (x.x.254.X)
You have them set up as different nodes on the same network.
Throwing the BT router into the mix introduces something I know nothing about however.
The hosts files (hosts, hosts.allow, hosts.dent) are in /etc.
I prefer jpico.
jpico /etc/hosts
The commands you need to know are listed on the top of the screen.
