Angry SIOCADDRT: No such device!


hi, im very new to linux im trying to use Slackware 9.1, this is my question...

im trying to set up my internet connection in my linux box, i have an ADSL modem then a router (192.168.2.1) an then my slackware box which is 192.168.2.30, i set up my ethernet card i can ping it but when i try to ping any site on the internet it says

ping unknown host, this is how i set my card

#ifconfig eth0 192.168.2.30 netmask 255.255.255.0
#ping -c 2 192.168.2.30
2 recived
# route add default 192.168.2.1
SIOCADDRT: No such device

any idea?? tnx in advance

try this:

if that does not work post your output of

tnx larry but i fix it already... i made a lot more research and the solution was to change the ethernet card to another pci slot
