Simple mail forwarding?

I'm hosting a mail server using sendmail. Currently, I just use port forwarding from my firewall for incoming mail. What I would like to do is store and forward mail from my firewall. This will enable me to take down my mail server for maintanence without incoming mail bouncing.

How can I set up a simple store-and-forward server on my firewall.

Both firewall and mail server are Redhat.

Thanks.

You could configure your firewall to act as a secondary mailserver for your domain, this will only work if both machines have public IP addresses, otherwise your firewall will keep sending the mail to itself.

You are better off using a server on a different internet connection.
