Sharing internet with firewall linux distribution


I was notice firewall linux distribution has proxy servers but how actualy share function there,can i when i connect to internet with firewall linux connect to it with typing gateway adress in windows networking?

To be a gateway, it needs to have ip forwarding turned on..

ssh into the firewall, and as root user, do
cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
If it says 1 then it is turned on.
If it says 0, you need to do
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

Most firewalls have this function on, so there may be other access rules you need to open to allow connections.
