Setting DHCP on a network card in text mode (no netconfig!)
Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to configure a network card to use DHCP in text mode. I've tried netconfig in Red Hat, but it is useless when the computer has more than one NIC.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,

netconfig -d eth0
netconfig -d eth1
netconfig -d eth2
netconfig -d eth0:1
netconfig -d eth0:2
if you really don't want netconfig, run this:
man ifconfig

Hi there,
Thanks for your suggestion. I forgot to mention that I've tried the netconfig -d eth0,1, etc. but when I change some parameters, and return to the prompt, I type ifconfig only to find that the parameters haven't changed at all.
I 've tried putting down the interface to change, netconfig, and then up, without success.
Am I missing something?
Cheers.

Try "pump" It's a little DHCP Client! If you dont have the command, install it as rpm.
