Unhappy Setting text mode

In the name of God
Hi,
Is there any functions(s) available to change the text mode screen in Linux (kind of something like Borland's settext (int)).

Thanks in advance.

I have found setupmode (char *, int, int) (I'm not sure about arguments), but it doesn't work when I assign something to it's first argument.

Look mate, if you learnt to ask proper
questions rather then assuming everyone
has a DOS-Borland-background and
throwing function-names at our heads people
could start considering to help you?

Btw, bitching and whining is *never* a
good thing to try and make somebody
want to help you in their spare time.

Cheers,
Tink
