sendmail install uninstall problem


can anyone explain this:

[root@Horus root]# rpm -U sendmail*
package sendmail-8.12.8-4 is already installed
[root@Horus root]# rpm -e sendmail*
error: package sendmail-8.12.8-4.i386.rpm is not installed


?????

Dont use the wild card use:
rpm -e sendmail

I always like to

rpm -qa | grep sendmail
(which might return something like...")
> sendmail-8.12.8-4
(Then you can...)
rpm -e sendmail-8.12.8-4

Try an --nodeps flag if it grunts at ya too much.
