script to get IP address of client pc

client pcs connect to Redhat over a local network. Is there a shell script, perl command etc that I can use to determine their IP address when they login?
Thanks,
Paul

can you give us more details on how and when you want to track these connections? do you mean that you want the server to monitor this? or the client? if it's the server i would probably just look towards an iptables ulog filter to record incoming connections to a certain port. this might not make any sense to what you want to achieve.

How are they connecting and what do you mean by logging in?

Are users sshing into the box from your local LAN? Or are the client machines authenticating against an LDAP server? Or is the RedHat box a DHCP server? There may be different ways of doing this depending on what the situation that your interested in...
