Samba, winbind, NT authentication
Hello All.
I'm using samba 2.2.6rc3 on RedHat 7.2. It was compiled with these options, enable cups, smbwrapper, automount, pam, pam_smbpass, winbind, winbind-auth-challenge.
The Linux box will be used as a print server and a file server. I can join the domain with the Linux box. The PDC is a NT 4.0 box that will also be used for passwords. I can run wbinfo -u and get the list of users and also use the "-g" option, I get the groups. When I run the wbinfo -t, I get the Bad Secrets error, with a code of 0xc000018b.
So I create a share for everyone to use and it works fine, the Linux server is browseable and the share is browesable. I then created a share with only a valid user option, added the one user DOM+USER, and I get prompted for a password, if I use a windows password, it still won't allow me to connect to the share as that user.
I need a good /etc/pam.d/samba configured file and if anyone has any ideas, please help. This project is getting ready to fail for me.
