samba with winbind

redhat 8
samba 2.2.5

i'm a linux newbie and i already installed samba and joined
win 2k domain. I manually add win usernames to samba linux
box. I want to synchronize win and linux usernames using winbind. What do i need to do if i have an existing samba
installed in my box? Do i need to remove it? Please provide
detailed steps because i am not familiar with some commands.
