Samba printing problems

I am having problems printing from a winxp machine through samba. My printer name is hp7150, the path (i think) is /var/spool/lpd/hp7150

It is working as a file server perfectly, i added only printer info below

[global]
printcap name = /etc/printcap
load printers = yes
printing = lpd

[printers]
comment = hp7150
path = /var/spool/lpd/hp7150
printer = hp7150
browseable = yes
public = yes
writeable = no
printable = yes

When i check the samba log fiel is states
print_job_start: insufficient permissions to open spool fiel /var/spool/lpd//smbprn.

so against my better judgement is chmod 777 lpd dir and hp7150 dir. Still no workie... Same message. Any suggestions?

eeeerrrrr, my samba woes continue:

all was well for a couple of days, when in the middle of a print job from my windoze box, my printer quit printing. I was then able to print from the linux box but not the windows box. I checked the samba log and it is now giving errors about insuffiencient permissions to open spool file. However nothing has changed either on the linux side or windows side. What could be causing this? Thanks for any help in advance.

Are there spool files stuck in the spool dir? not sure if that would cause a problem with only samba but just in case...

ls -al /var/spool/lpd/hp7150
rm -rf /var/spool/lpd/hp7150/*
