Samba

Hi. Having deployed latest 2.x Samba on a RedHat 9 box, I use samba as a PDC in my local intranet, serving about 80 users. Everything works fine but...

In some XP boxes, I have mapped a few network drives (i.e. public, accounting and nettols). When opening Windows explorer, I see one or more of the mapped drives with the connection lost. That freaking icon with a red "X" on it. But when I try to access the drive, it works fine!

Any ideas about that?

Windows disconnects from a share after a specific amount of time.
This is the reason why windows "remembers" usernames and password.

If you want, you can modify this settings in the registry.

P.S. I never did this modification... I try to avoid changing settings in the registry.
