SAMBA help


I got my samba setup... when i type findsmb, i see all the users on the network...but how can i browse the files on the system? this might be a stupid question...sorry if it is

browse? are you looking for a gui front end to samba for browsing shares? you might consider LinNeighborhood. see

Depending on what desktop you use (if you use one) nautilus is capable of browsing the network...just type smb:// (i think? i don't use it?) into the location bar

You can use the command line to browse, mount, and unmount the drive...take a peek at the documentation on the samba website.

You want to learn about smbclient and smbmount.

mount -t sbmfs //servername/sharename /home/username/localmountpoint

or the equivalent will work.
