Samba Activity Logging

I was just wondering if it was possible to log activity on my samba server, who opened what file, creation / deletion etc. Its setup as share level security and thats sufficent for my purposes. I've seen something like what I want using webmin, when you view all connections.

OS = Mandrake 10.1 official

Thanks!

First off, with share level security, it will be impossible to determine exactly "who" did what, except for IP addresses/NETBIOS names of source machines. But there is obviously no authentication, and no user security or integrity.

If webmin does what you need, what is the question here? Or did I misunderstand you?

If all I can get are Ip addresses or netbios names that would work, I'm a little new to linux so i'm learning as i go but I mentioned the way webmin displays current connections, but it does so only when I'm logged into webmin and viewing the current users; I'm just wondering if there is a way to have it log this activity to a file,

ex. when i click view connections right now it gives me output like this

PROCESS ID : 26083
SHARE :Music
Connected From :BRIAN
Connected at : Mon Mar 14 22:22:17 2005
OPEN Files: NONE /mnt/hd/server/media/mp3//IRON MAIDEN/Iron Maiden - 1992 - Fear Of The Dark/12-Fear Of The Dark.mp3 (DENY_NONE)

Even If it was a script i had to run under cron at a given time, not really looking for high security or anything.

I need to figure out how Webmin gets that information. It should then be trivial to log this information.
