Run wpa_gui from Xfce panel

I want to run wpa_gui by clicking on a GUI panel icon. This utility requires admin priviledge. My user is in the sudoers file.

Currently if I chmod +s `which wpa_gui`, it refuses to run because it doesn't like setuid.

If I change the command in the panel icon settings to "sudo wpa_gui" however, there is no existing GUI mechanism to detect the "sudo" prefix and then ask me for my password.

Is there a way to always be able to run it via the GUI?

Edit your sudoers file and allow passwordless execution of this particular command. The tool for this is 'visudo'.

That worked, thanks.

myuser mymachine = NOPASSWD: /usr/sbin/wpa_gui

I had to reboot for it to take effect.
